DRAGON NEST IMPRESSION

Dragon Nest: First Impressions

Don’t know if you should play Dragon Nest? This post should give you sufficient enough information to get the ball rolling!

First impressions are always important, and DN has given me a real good one. What is Dragon Nest?
Dragon Nest (DN) is a MMORPG with elements of action gameplay. If you like dazzling spells or impressive moves, this is the game for you. So how good does the game fare?

Blurring out close up view for some reason…..

For a F2P game, it feels really polished, the character movements aren’t as blocky as other games and I loved the simplistic design of the environment. However it is in Closed Beta and Closed Beta often comes with bugs. (Damn it)
For this duration of the closed beta I’m playing a Elemental Lord and a Paladin. Elemental Lord is the second job for the Sorceress class while Paladin is the second job for the Cleric class. They’re both DPS and Tank respectively. The party system incorporates a system called Blessing points; if you prefer to solo, you’ll consume more BP, however when you are grouped, BP consumes lesser, also for a bonus, if your party has a friend in it, you get additional XP!
I wouldn’t want to dull you with words so here are some awesome screenshots taken during a group mission to Ambush Point Abysss difficulty.

Fireball!

In Dragon Nest, Clerics drops giant relics from the sky.

DRAGON NEST LEVEL 60 ACTIVE SKILL

Lately, I have been posting stuffs concerning on what will be the new skills that we will get when the level 60 cap update for Dragon Nest comes. I have listed some possible skills that might come in the future and, most of them are ex versions of the current skill that we have. This only means that it's only an improve version of our 2nd job advancement which enhances the range, AOE, damage, animation or even add some effects on that skill.

To tell you honestly, I am pretty disappointed knowing this as some of the Ex version are not cool. In fact, I did cross my finger so that there will be some active skills in the release of level 60 cap. And luckily, that hope has been renewed as someone had emailed me this morning saying that possibly, there will be active skills in the release of the level 60 cap.

If Eric Shemolda is to be believe, then we will be having 4 skills in the release of the level 60 cap. It will be 2 ex versions of the second job advancement, one new passive skill and one new active skill.  Seems you are pretty excited now? :D. Me too!

Anyway, this tips is supposedly leaked level 50-60 skills of the current classes of a Dragon Nest server which has the update already. However, it has not been implemented yet and we don't know if it's true yet but, I am still glad that my hopes of having an active skill in the level 60 cap did not fade away just yet :D.

So what's the new active skills at level 60 cap for Dragon Nest?

Well, we haven't got any images or videos. All that Eric sent me is a bunch of text describing what would be the new active skills of each class when the update comes. So here it is:

Note: The text where originally Japanese. And if my google translate serves me right, then my translation would be correct :D. I hope that I have translated this texts well (well it's the translators fault anyway so don't blame me.hahaha).

Call Death: call a strong grasp of death around the enemy, so all the enemies around in a certain period of time will be like dead people. LEVEL 50 - GOLD FARMING GUIDE

Dragon Nest SEA – Level 50 Gold Farming Guide

I know this is a little late but still better than never :P
Nevertheless it’s still not too late if you still want to start earning some decent gold in Dragon Nest SEA.
Know that this guide is subject to changes due to how the economy can change after the game remains at the same content over an extended period of time.
I believe this guide will only be valid for around one to two months, but there will be tips given that will always remain useful ever after a long period of time in which level 50 content is released.
This gold farming guide will not teach you to become a super rich player overnight, the best way to do that is buy cherry credits and sell cash items for gold. However if you’re hardworking and consistent enough, this guide will definitely get you somewhere.
The framework of this guide will be as such:
  • Gold Farming for the next Month or so.
  • What mode should you farm at which circumstances (With FTG and with ZERO FTG)
  • REAL Royal Chest Locations – East/West Side Armory, Dragon Follower Base, Riverwort Ruins
  • Other less Main Stream Methods
  • What items to stock up on in view of increased price due to certain content being released
  • Others
———————————————————————————-
The first thing that should come to you as as player is how expensive some item crafting materials is.
Currently in greenwood they are within the range of 85G to 100G+ each.
These are the following 3 item crafting materials in question as they are required for the crafting of suffix on weapons & armors.

Dragon Follower Emerald – Suffix for Epic Armors/Weapons

Noble Lady’s Ring – Suffix for Weapons

Worn Gear – Suffix for Secondary Rare Weapons

Note: These requirements varies with different weapon types but basically these 3 items are greatly in demand because many new players want to craft the suffix for their new level 50 items.
The key to gold farming now will be the sale of these items.
These items depreciate over-time (meaning as more and more players finish crafting their suffix, the lesser the demand for these items, and thus a lower price)
So if you’re not in a hurry in upgrading your weapons simply farm these items everyday with your FTG and grind the one which is the most expensive when your FTG hits zero.
Here are the dungeons that drop the respective item crafting materials:
Noble Lady’s Ring - Armory East Side
Worn Gear – Armory West Side
Dragon Follower Emerald - Dragon Follower Base
So here’s what you need to do if you just want to sell these items to earn gold.
  1. Visit the Trading House and find out among the 3 items, which is worth the highest for that day
  2. Start running that dungeon that drops the most expensive crafting material, sell and earn gold
  3. Rinse and repeat everyday for the next month and you should have earned quite a huge sum of gold.
The next question will be what happens after my FTG hits ZERO?
The real question is Abyss or Master Mode?
So here’s my advice.
When you have FTG, run the dungeons solo in ABYSS MODE as you get to keep all the loot instead of risk having the item crafting material looted by another party member.
Once you hit ZERO FTG, you have 2 choices that you can take depending on your circumstances and preferences.
  1. Farm Master Mode of that particular dungeon (Solo)
  2. Farm Abyss Mode of that particular dungeon (4-man Party)
From my experience thus far, the reason for master mode is because it is definitely much more manageable compared to Abyss Mode.
Abyss Mode takes around 6.5mins for my Moonlord to complete. (Currently have 4.5k Matk and 18000 Critical)
Using Dragon Follower Base as an example, master mode only takes around 3.5mins-4mins per run.
Since when you have ZERO FTG, loots are bad enough already, the more times you run basically mean the more loots you get.
So if you’re running solo, just run master mode of the dungeon that you want to farm the item crafting material for.
So why Abyss Mode if you’re running in a 4-man party?
The reason why you want 4-man is because of the much faster rate in clearing dungeons and this will affect your consistent gold output despite bad drop rates due to zero FTG.
Here’s the item you are recommended to have when you are gold farming in this method when your FTG hits ZERO.

Everyone should be familiar with this by now if you haven’t.
Basically the key is the 50% reduction in repair cost (reduces your gold spent in repairing items which actually stacks up to quite abit)
Also the NPC item Selling Price is increased by 15%
So why abyss mode?
When you run abyss mode and open the bunny at the end, you’re 100% going to get a High Grade Revert Cube.
5 of these cubes give you 7.5G (without VIP ticket) and 8.62G (With VIP Ticket)

Now 8.62G for every 5 Abyss runs you run is actually pretty decent gold.
Aside from covering repair cost, this gives you a very steady source of income especially if you happen to be extremely unlucky for that day.
This 8.62G every 5runs is excluding all the other white NPC loots you get when you run the dungeon as well.
In short,
When you have FTG – Solo Abyss for Item Crafting Material
When you have ZERO FTG – Solo Master Mode / 4-man Abyss for Item Crafting Material
Especially for the point regarding the high grade revert cubes (rare), it is definitely something that is constant as NPC Selling price for this item will NEVER change, so this method will always be viable no matter how long 50 cap is released.
We all know that Royal Chest Gives extremely good loot in Abyss mode, so here are the actual screen shots of the REAL Royal Chest for the abovementioned 3 dungeons.
Know that there are “troll” royal chest that has a high spawn rate in most of the new lvl 50 dungeons that does not give the same loot as real royal chests, it is important to know the difference.

Armory West Side Royal Chest Location
Armory West Side, last area before proceeding to boss map. After clearing a bunch of “bunny-like” statues, there will be a small room that opens up at the end with 2 silver and 2 bronze chests.
The royal chest is in here as well, so don’t forget to check.

Dragon Follower Base Real Royal Chest Location
Dragon Follower Base, this one you definitely won’t miss it because it spawns at the same area of the troll royal chest, and right before the portal to the boss stage.

Armory East Side Royal Chest Location
For Armory East Side, the royal chest spawns at the boss room so you can’t miss it… unless you mistake it as the boss :P

Riverwort Ruins Real Royal Chest Location
For those who think that solo-ing Riverwort Ruins Abyss Mode because of the fast run time, here’s the location of the Real Royal Chest.
It is at the area where you need to clear 100 monsters, central portal; right side.
Ancient Library Royal Chest (NEW)

This is the area before the boss where you need to clear 2 “pedals” worth of monsters
————————————————————————–
So what are other things that you can try to try an earn a quick buck at this juncture?
Note that these things are only viable for the short term as it highlights the fact that these items in question definitely depreciate over time.
They are:
  • Polished Jewels
  • Totem Set Rare Crafting Materials (Soul/Orb/Hair Ornament etc)
  • Level 50 Epic Accessories
Polished jewels prices are already falling except for (Polished Rubies obviously :P ).
So what are other alternative methods to acquire them aside from getting them from dungeons?

So all those medals you have stocked up can finally be for a good use!
This pouch gives you a random polished jewel (including polished diamond) from as low as 1 piece to as high as FIVE, it also has a chance to give you octagonal water
So if you have stocked up many many medals, you can actually use them to exchange for these pouches now, open them, keep the ones you need and sell the rest ASAP.
Polished Jewel prices will only drop over time, and the only jewel that will probably be crazily high is the new “Purple” polished jewels when Kali is released in the future.
but we all know kali won’t be coming any time soon knowing cherry credits.
————————————-
The next item in question will be the ancient totem set item (rare) crafting materials.
If you’re in no rush to craft your set (like me), simply sell all the rare crafting materials you have now.
These items will also only drop over time and use this opportunity to earn a quick buck now, and buy them for much less in the future.
This is ever more so because of the way Archbishop Nest works where you can 100% get a royal chest at the end (which drops many many item crafting material for totem set) if you run it properly.
———————————————–
Regarding Level 50 Epic Accessories, the question will be where the heck do I get them when there’s no Archbishop Nest Hell Mode!
For those who didn’t know, ladder points can now be exchange for epic accessories.

Regardless of Earrings/Necklace/Earrings, it all cost 570 Points to exchange for one
What you need to do every week now is do at least 10 Ladder matches and you will be awarded ladder points.
At around 1500 ratings to 1800 ratings, 10 games will give you around 800+ ladder points
At around 1800 ratings to 2000 ratings, 10 games will give you around 900+ ladder points
At around 2000 ratings to 2200 ratings, 10 games will give you around 1000+ ladder points.
Continuing after 10 games risk you losing points if you lose, and only stand to gain very very little if you win.
So if you’re not an avid PVPer, just stop at 10 games regardless of how many wins/losses you have will be the best.
After you play 10 games, it will state in your ladder overview board how many points you have.
*You will only be credited these points on Saturday 9AM GMT+8*
So if you have more than 1 level 50 character, get all of them to do at least 10 games per week and you can exchange at least 1 pouch per character :)
After which you can sell these accessories at high prices since this is the only way to acquire Level 50 Epic Accessories
———————————————————————————–
So what can you stock up in view of future content release?
Knowing that the above (via ladder) is the only way to acquire Level 50 Epic Accessories, this is the only reason why High Grade Diamond Code prices haven’t shot up yet.
It is currently around 250-265G each in Greenwood
I will strongly recommend you to stock up on High Grade Diamond Codes by exchanging them with Fragment of Dimensional Gems because boy the prices of them will definitely fly sky high once Archbishop Nest (Hell Mode) is released.
Now wait… did we forget about 1 very important key player in gold farming since old times?
What about Comet dusts?
For those who don’t know yet, the disassembler have been yielding ridiculous results recently like +13/14 weapons giving 3 comet dusts for Level 40 Epic/Rare weapons.
Not too sure about that but here are some values you will definitely be interested in. Credits to BloodMark who provided and tested this personally.
Main Weapons Lv50 Blue/Rare
Lizardman Sword Blue +6 = 2 sun spark & 3 comet dust
Lizardman Sword Red +5 = 5 1 sun spark & 3 comet dust
Mysterious Elf Crossbow Green +4  = 63 comet dust BINGO!!
Sub Weapons Lv50 Blue/Rare
Lizardman Gauntlet Violet +6 = 1 sun spark & 1 comet dust
Lizardman Gauntlet Violet +5  = 51 comet dust BINGO!!!
Lizardman Gauntlet Blue +4 =  31 comet dust
Main Weapons Lv45 Blue/Rare
Golden Lion Mace Gray +6 = 1 sun spark & 2 comet dust
Golden Lion Flail Gray +5 = 82 comet dust BINGO!!
Golden Lion Flail Blue +4 = 47 comet dust
Better grab those cheap level 45 Rare Main Weapons :P
However, if you’re excited from these values, especially the data on the Level 45 Rare Weapons, do know that we do not know when the Level 50 Epic Spiral/Vortex pouches are ever going to come.
Rumours have also been spreading that Level 50 Epic Spiral/vortex codes in kDN and cDN have been disabled recently which question if these pouches are even going to come at all.
So just a heads up, don’t place all your fruits in one basket :)
————————————————————–
I guess that’s it for the Level 50 Gold farming guide for now.
I hope once again this guide is insightful and useful to players in Dragon Nest SEA.
Don’t ever forget this basic concept for Dragon Nest gold farming though…
It is always running the dungeon which give you the best possible loot in the fastest possible time.
Keep this concept in mind and you will never go wrong no matter how the economy is changed.
I’ll be providing  video walk -through for East/West Side Armory, Dragon Follower Base very very soon.

If there’s one thing I love in this world, it’s this world! Altera’s got it all: friendly people, beautiful vistas, flesh-eating monsters... I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. In fact, I’m not sure there really is anywhere else to live. Altera’s got a monopoly on the whole “places with oxygen and livable climates” game. But what if there is another world out there? A world with intelligent life and advanced technology... What if...they control us!?
